"you must make an appointment."

Most of us hunters spend our hard-earned money on the top-of-the-line equipment to provide us with our best chance of success. Remember this when looking for your choice of a Taxidermist.

My Story

I started taxidermy at the good old age of 10 and haven't stopped since. I was the Arizona State Taxidermy Champion in all categories - birds, fish, shoulder mounts, and life-size animals. I have competed all over New England, taking home first place ribbons in the professional division in all areas of taxidermy, not to mention the World Championship in Gainsville, Georgia in 1992 and 1995. To this day, I strive to do my best with each and every mount.

Here in Arizona, there is an endless bounty of game species to hunt and therefore mount. As a master taxidermist, I am skilled in all avenues of taxidermy. with over 40 years of experience, I've been learning and growing in the field of Taxidermy. Through my knowledge and expertise, I work hard to provide each one of my customers with the best quality and affordability possible.

I am not the most expensive taxidermist in the valley; however, I am not the cheapest.  I try to meet you in the middle. Remember - Quality takes time and is remembered long after a cheap price is forgotten. That being said, I'm selective with what I take in the shop, and close for the season when I am full.

What I expect from you:

Proper field care of your trophy. Go extra-long when you cape the animal. Get it cool, then COLD ASAP. Prepare for this in advance. When you come to see me, bring your hunting license, tag, and a 50% deposit. 100% down with all birds, euro skulls & flat skins. I do not take credit cards or cash apps. I've had my last bounced check, cash only. I can't stress how hot it is during antelope and bear season here in AZ. So bring the freezer with you!! LOL.  Treat your trophy like a trophy and it doesn't matter the size, no matter what your friends say. Currently it's a 12-month turn around , 14 to 15 months if your item was brought to me after Christmas. 18-20months for rugs. Please, please do not call early to check up on your Mount before your time is up. If I'm late you may call everyday, but not before. As you have seen my shop and showroom are extremely full with limited space. Therefore I'm asking you to be prepared to pick up your mount immediately upon completion. My routine is as follows, I'll call you the day I mount it. Then it takes about 2 weeks to dry before I can do finish work. I'll call you again to inform you to pick it up. You have two weeks from the second phone call to pick up your mount. If you are late, it is $50 per week every week thereafter , no exceptions. I do not want your money, I want you to pick up your trophy. This may sound harsh, but I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place as I have no area to store your mount for an extended period of time. Be aware of this before you make your decision to bring me your trophy.

I usually close my shop from April to September with taking in new work, so I can meet mytime deadlines. Although if you have a bird , I'll  sneak you in.

when you call to make an appointment to come pick up your trophy , the odds are I'll be mounting somebody else's at that time. Therefore I'll need an exact time arrival from you. The reason for this is, there are certain stages and steps during the taxidermy process where- in I cannot stop working because of excessive drying with epoxy glues, and bondo's and several other reasons, therefore if I have an exact time arrival from you, I can schedule my duties accordingly. In addition be aware, I most likely will not have the same amount of time to make small talk with folks as when they drop off their trophy. Different times of the year demand different work responsibilities from me. Thank you for your attention to this!
